On September 16, Furman Center Policy Director Jessica Yager moderated a panel convened by the New York Housing Conference about zoning regulations and affordable housing.

The panel discussion focused on the various ways zoning regulations impede development in New York City and how zoning might be used as a tool to encourage the development of affordable housing, in light of Mayor DeBlasio’s affordable housing goals.  The panel included Anita Laremont, General Counsel at the New York City Department of City Planning, Caroline Harris, Partner at Goldman Harris LLC, Samantha Magistro, Managing Director of New Business at Bronx Pro, and Michael Slattery, Senior Vice President for Research at the Real Estate Board of New York.
