Policy Director Jessica Yager Briefs Newly Elected State Legislators

On December 5, NYU Furman Center Policy Director Jessica Yager joined a panel of experts to brief new state legislators on key topics in housing.

Yager’s panel also included Brenda Rosen of Common Ground and Richard Gottfried, New York State Assembly Member from Manhattan. The panel discussed topics including NYCHA, tenants’ rights, rent regulation, and affordable housing.

The panel was part of the New Legislators Retreat 2014, convened by City & State and Baruch College School of Public Affairs. Held every election year, the Retreat is a day-long conference for newly elected officials meant to highlight important policy topics likely to come up during their time in office.
