NYU Furman Center Receives Neighborhood Housing Service of NYC Excellence Award

Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City, Inc. (NHS of NYC) recognized the NYU Furman Center's Faculty Director Ingrid Gould Ellen and Executive Director Mark Willis for their leadership in providing objective, policy-relevant research on housing and neighborhoods. The award was presented on November 13, 2014 by NHS of NYC at its annual fall benefit event, Conversation, Cocktails, and Camaraderie.

NHS of NYC revitalizes underserved neighborhoods by creating and preserving affordable housing and providing opportunities for homeownership education, financial assistance and community leadership. The award was presented by Bernell K. Grier, Chief Executive Office of NHS of NYC; Edward Kramer, Executive Vice President, Wolters Kluwer Financial Services; and Patrick McEnerney, Managing Director, Deutsche Bank.

The NHS of NYC Excellence Award recognizes the NYU Furman Center’s work to provide objective, policy-relevant research to help improve neighborhoods, particularly its research on the causes and consequences of foreclosure, the effectiveness of foreclosure prevention programs, and access to homeownership.
