On November 17th, the NYU Urban Seminar Series, co-hosted by the NYU Furman Center and Marron Institute, welcomed John Mangin, attorney at the New York City Department of City Planning. He presented his preliminary research on the political economy of development in New York City's fastest-growing ethnic enclaves. He discussed why certain ethnic groups have been able to affect favorable responses from city government in order to both make changes to their built environment as well as defend against change.

The NYU Urban Seminar series is co-hosted by the NYU Furman Center and the Marron Institute. The speaker series is focused on research with implications for urban policy, and features a variety of researchers from across the U.S. discussing their work.
