Directory Overview

Over the years, dozens of government programs have subsidized housing in New York City. The NYU Furman Center’s Directory of New York City Housing Programs catalogues information about these programs.

The Directory of New York City Housing Programs includes only those housing programs used within the five counties (coterminous with boroughs) of the City of New York. The Directory includes programs administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) at the federal level; New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) at the state level; the New York City Department of Finance (DOF), the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD),  and Housing Development Corporation (HDC) at the municipal level.

There are programs in the Directory for which information is incomplete, inconsistent, or unavailable. If you notice information that is incomplete, incorrect, or out of date, please contact the NYU Furman Center via our Feedback Form.
