The One Shot Deal Emergency Assistance program helps people who cannot meet an expense due to an unexpected situation or event. Emergency assistance is provided for, but not limited to, the following situations: homelessness, dispossession/evictionion, utility disconnected or pending termination, fire disaster, domestic violence, or other circumstances that affect the health and safety of the individual or family. In order to apply for an emergency grant, known as a one-shot deal, applicants must go to an Human Resources Administration (HRA) Public Assistance office (or Job Center).
