House-NY

The House-NY fund provides affordable housing developers access to capital needed in a short time frame for shovel-ready projects. The fund assists municipalities through experienced local non-profit organizations to develop an inventory of sites around the state that are ready for residential development. The state provides technical and financial assistance to help communities bring a property through various approval stages, including building codes and zoning approvals. Zero-interest loans are available to assist communities in identifying and preparing sites for the development of affordable housing. In addition, New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) gives priority to House-NY properties when making funding decisions for properties from other program sources.
