HomeFix

HomeFix is a new program to help low- and moderate-income homeowners in one- to four-family properties fund home repairs. One of the initiatives first laid out in the De Blasio Administration’s Housing New York 2.0 Plan, HomeFix seeks to empower New York City homeowners who are not able to access home repair funds through the private market by providing home repair loans, technical assistance, and other homeowner funding or counseling. The HomeFix program is funded in part by the New York Attorney General’s settlements with large financial institutions to address misconduct that contributed to the collapse of the housing market.
