NYU Furman Center researchers presented new and forthcoming work at the Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management’s (APPAM) November conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

APPAM brings together academics and research on a variety of emerging policy issues, exploring ways to bring global and inter-disciplinary perspectives into conversations on pressing challenges, ranging from changing population demographics and economic inequality to climate change.

NYU Furman Center Faculty Director Ingrid Gould Ellen, Research Fellow Jorge de la Roca, Legal Research Fellow Justin Steil, and research affiliate Rachel Meltzer presented and discussed the following works:

  • "Are Local Retail Services an Amenity or a Nuisance?"
  • “Do Housing Choice Voucher Holders Move Towards Better Schools?”
  • “The Effects of Negative Equity on Children’s Educational Outcomes,”
  •  “Are Barrios Good or Bad? The Effects of Metropolitan Segregation on Latino Outcomes”
