News & Events | September 24th 2014

On September 23, Moelis Institute Director Max Weselcouch joined affordable housing advocates, planners, lawmakers, researchers, and developers at the Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of New York State (NPCNYS) Statewide Housing Conference. The Building Blocks Conference, held at Pace University in Manhattan, featured presentations from federal and state housing officials, developers and business leaders. The two-day event brought together housing experts to discuss a variety of issues related to housing development and advocacy, ranging from tenant organizing to adapting multi-family homes after disasters. Max presented the findings of the recent Furman Center publication, The Price of Resilience: Can Multifamily Housing Afford to Adapt, highlighting the fact that implementing resilience measures may be particularly difficult and costly for multifamily, affordable, rental properties.

The Neighborhood Preservation Coalition of New York State, Inc. is a membership organization of non-profit, community-based housing companies working to revitalize urban and suburban areas across New York State.
