Senior Citizen Home Assistance Program (SCHAP)

In partnership with the Parodneck Foundation, the Senior Citizen Home Assistance Program (SCHAP) assists low- and moderate-income seniors in making necessary home repairs. A maximum of $40,000 is available for single-family homes. For homeowners of two- to four-family homes, a maximum of $30,000 per dwelling unit is available. The loans vary from no-interest deferred loans to fully amortizing 3 percent interest loans. The amount of the loan will be based on the extent of the system replacements or repairs needed. SCHAP includes the Senior-Help Emergency Loan Program, the Senior-Help Deferred/Forgivable Loan Program, and the Senior-Help Repayment Loan Program.
