Explore characteristics of the housing stock and population located in the nation’s 100-year and 500-year floodplain (which includes areas with a 1% and 0.2% probability of a flood occurring in a given year, respectively). 

Downloadable data

Download additional housing and population indicators at the national, state, county, and Census tract levels. 

Housing indicators include information on the number and share of residential units and buildings in the floodplains, how much housing is renter occupied or owner occupied, how much of the housing is multifamily or single-family, and information about the age and subsidy status of buildings in the floodplain.

Population indicators include information on race and ethnicity, households with children, households with seniors, and household income for households in the floodplains.
